The goliath and world-dominating Sheffield band that have dominated the world of “good old Rock N’ Roll” (as Alex Turner once put it in a Brits acceptance speech), have sent fans into a frenzy of speculation since appearing together around their home-town Sheffield in recent weeks.

With one tweet today from BBC employee Shamir Masir it was confirmed to many of us that the greatest christmas present we could dream of was given to us two days prior to actual christmas day.

So it’s confirmed. It is actually happening. Will it top the critically acclaimed AM? Will it be another example of The Arctic Monkey’s diverse and versatile sound? These are only a few of the plethora of questions we have, but we will undoubtedly do our best to answer them over the coming months.
