TRNSMT announce more talent

Words by Innes Reid.

The people behind TRNSMT have unveiled some more fresh talent for the 3-day festival this summer. For an event that has no history behind it at all, the line up is looking as strong as other notable festivals up and down the country.

The most recent additions to the bill are as follows: Louis Berry, Wuh Oh, The Vegan Leather, The Van T’s, Vistas, Vukovi and JR Green. They will join the likes of Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro across the weekend in July.

All acts in this new announcement, bar Louis Berry, share a homeland of Scotland. This is just goes to show that TRNSMT’s organisers are keen to showcase local upcoming acts at the festival. Glasgow is known for its personal and passionate musical culture and this really puts a staple on it!

Liverpool’s own Louis Berry is set to rock up to Glasgow Green on Friday 7th just wow crowds with his masterful storytelling through song. Berry has received critical acclaim from the likes of Radio X and BBC Radio One, with plenty of radio time to his name. Check his cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘How Would You Feel (Paean)’ for BBC Maida Vale.

The Vegan Leather are riding high after 3 years of hard work. The 4-piece from Paisley are making a name for themselves both in and out the country, with 2017 being the first year they venture abroad to gig. Having being hand picked to support the likes of Paolo Nutini and The View last year, they have proven that they are ones to watch out for. Catch them on the Friday of the festival.

If you are a fan of alternative pop rock, Vukovi are definitely a band for you. The rockers from Ayrshire formed in 2010 so have had time to perfect their sound and build a loyal fan base. Having released their debut album just in March, is 2017 the year they make their mark? They’ll take to the King Tut’s Stage on Sunday 9th, the same day fellow Ayrshire band Biffy Clyro headline the main stage.

That’s just a taster of some of the new talent that will be hitting up Glasgow in July at TRNSMT. The line up keeps on getting bigger and better, and we have been promised that their is some more to come.
